This wine has a very slightly funky nose.  What does that mean?  It generally means that a wine’s aromas are less-immediately reminiscent of fruits and more, as this wine, like cedar wood and tobacco.  Many wines that start out with a ‘funky nose’ quickly benefit from some exposure to air/oxygen before the floral and fruity aromas emerge.  That’s one reason to swirl a glass of red wine in the glass.

The 2018 Cab has a very warm and smooth mouth-feel, with noticeably soft tannins.  It’s a food wine, with medium color.  Specific flavor components include plum (‘yellow plum’) and cherry (‘cherry pie’); also cranberry, ‘tart cherry’ and a hint of eucalyptus.  This is a perfect food wine.
