Meet The Team

Deborah & Peter Carroll bought the Lenz Winery in 1988, ten years after its founding, and when the Long Island wine community comprised fewer than ten established wineries. 

A lifelong farmer, Sam still finds the vineyard exciting: "There's never a dull moment. Each year I enjoy the challenge of achieving that balance between vine health and productivity to ensure wine quality." Sam joined the Lenz team in late 1989 and has since added many varietals to its original plantings.

After serving in the USMC, Thomas transformed his hobby of brewing and fermenting into a career as a winemaker.  In addition to Long Island, Thomas has premium experience in Columbia Valley, WA and Stellenbosch, South Africa. 

After working as a litigation consultant, Jerol's passion for wine encouraged him to follow his heart to a more rewarding career.  Since joining Lenz, Jerol has transformed the Lenz experience for all customers, employees and wine club members to what it is today.

From helping customers to managing the floor, Macey keeps the tasting room running smoothly.  With her start in the wine world at just 20 years old, Macey quickly learned about wine and shares her knowledge with our customers: both new and the regulars!

"Dee Dee's" parents instilled in her a love of wine very early: "Wine was always a part of the conversation, part of every dinner and celebration." Since joining Lenz in 2007, she's worn many hats--subscriber program, events, marketing, advertising--the list goes on and on!
