TASTING NOTES

2016 Estate Selection
Chardonnay
In the glass this wine is medium-straw in color. The aroma tells you that it is oaked, but very lightly-oaked. The wine was 50% barrel-fermented in older French oak barrels, and 50% cold-fermented in stainless steel. There are vanilla and apple notes.
On the palate the wine is very bright and appealing. It’s a simple, straightforward wine of light-medium body, with classic chardonnay ‘Northern fruits’ of apple and pear, and some minerality. There is a long finish with some cedar/cigar-box notes.
